Grandview Park

May 2024

A ‘Pocket Park’ project with the goal of maximising play value within a confined footprint. This location in Hillside is a hub of community activity and with this project replacing a well-loved timber play unit, Melton City Council wanted a refreshed playspace which gave back the community everything which was already present, plus a bit more.

With this goal in mind and space at a premium, the focus of the project turned to height - with a variety of internal climbing located in the right tower. Raising the level of this tower created opportunity for an under deck sensory play cubby, which was made accessible through the inclusion of a softfall rubber pathway. A bright red ladybug springer completes the space and a red and green colour palette works to tie this together with the lush greenery at the rear of the area.
